Lately my passion for creating a graphic novel has really taken a hold of me in a way unlike before. Among other things I've started sketching the first character, image related. I know it's only a sketch, and I also have a hard time getting past the sketch phase as of now, but what do you find appealing? What do you not find appealing? How could I evolve my style?

Great reference pictures, I'll try my best to improve at drawing so that I can participate more in future threads.
