I think you just got a bit of a tough design going for ya. I think silverfish look sleek from far away, but up close, they look a bit chunky as far as their armor goes. Id even say my version still looks a bit heavy. But i think you can do it with some good thought. You dont gotta do an oc of mine, i dont draw pretty things too often. But I'll leave my boys here if either of them give you fancy.
They are aliens from the distant future, a googol years away. The tall one is spiteful, purebread warrior who lives to serve the collective good of their race, that suffers from an energy crisis. The fat one is a genetically-altered engineer and pilot who serves no one except himself. He just wants to set up on a planet where he can continue his bloodline, away from his species and the other waring races

The one one the right is a genetically altered alien and part of a rag tag team trying to find the last yellow star in the universe, Sol. The one on the left is a natural example of their species and is an equivalent of a ruthless space samurai. They are bitter rivals.
