the truth is... I don't talk in these threads anymore for like a year, I don't use DAD or draw anymore but I still make threads
sometimes I don't even read the thread, I just check if it was about to expire and then make a thread, like it's a thing I'm supposed to do, a routine
maybe bc it makes me feel like I'm useful or worth something

assuming I'm not dead or missing threads, I'm gonna just continue to make it because uh... I don't know why, I have nothing better to do.
it takes like 10 minutes a week or something anyway, not every 2, 3 days like our prime used to be

sorry guys, I failed and miscalculated the time the thread dies again. I'm old. I'm announcing my retirement and let dog do it from now on.

>working in art/animation industry full time for 2 years now
>get hired to work in a large and prestigious company
>pay and benefits is all good, but toxic work atmosphere and they work you to the bone
>be their top performing employee, worked on all departments and major projects
>STILL not good enough for them b/c they need their numbers constantly growing to compete with the other mega corps
>end up working over time often and having no life outside of work

>also people are fucking petty as fuck due to stress from up the ladder
>mfw this is a common theme amongst everyone
>co-workers constantly shifting blame, taking credit, and trying to tear each other down to be the top performer or just to save their asses from getting fired
>mfw someone (competing for my position/promotion) tried to ring me in for "bullying" because i critiqued their work according to STANDARD GUIDELINES
>areyoufuckingtwelve.jpg

>get called in for "performance issues" because managers don't want to take blame for their mistakes
>artists are the bottom rung of the ladder; we are the most expendable, so we're easily scapegoated
>forget HR, they are in the interest of protecting the company
>want to quit, but hear about how other companies abuse their artists as well and have worse management issues
>also all the art these companies house are a collection of fugly, cost-efficient styles that we are micro-managed to follow
>and less pay and benefits obviously
>mfw i feel like working in the art industry actually deteriorated my art skills

i chose this career because i loved art, and it was the one thing i knew how to do best.
what would be the better alternatives for an artist to survive? this corporate life is just not for me... i need a plan to get myself out of this lifestyle or i might just end up killing myself
