You need to understand form/3D shapes.

This means you need essentially 3 things:
-Observational Drawing (Drawing Basics in last link)
-Perspective
For the above two categories, draw basic objects from life. Try to make 300-500 drawings of random objects in your house, outside, etc. Go from simple, like the box of tissues on your desk, to more complicated mechanical objects, buildings, scenes, etc.

-Basics of figure drawing (you don't need to get into anatomy per se, but you need to start learning the larger forms, basic basic anatomy)

You should study this 3 things for 4-6 months. Focus on one of them for two weeks at a time, don't go back and forth between different resources/classes.
