make stronger decisions about background/midground/foreground heirarchy (and within each of those, the B/M/F heirarchy) and adjust the alternation of your values accordingly. Other than the sunlit patch, right now it all blends together. One of the two sharpest points of contrast is the (pine?) tree on the right against the almost-black trunk. what is special about this tree? how is it more special than the aliums walking in the distance?

Mercenary.wip. emphasize the edge of the stock nearest the viewer, right now it looks like she's holding a cutout of a photo of a gun. Find a way to get some warm colors in there so the fatigues aren't so dull.

More form, less rendering. Skull is squashed and his right eye socket is way out of place. Value organization is all over the place and it looks muddy/doesn't read well. Easiest way to fix: do bridgman studies and draw from life a fuckton.

Your initial block-in is too detailed and the values aren't arranged well enough. You're working up the image unevenly. I feel like the apple reflections in the copper could be just ever so much more distinct. Pretty solid though famalam.

noodle-bone on the his left leg is really awful and distracting. Much less distracting but still of note: the lines on the fabric don't communicate form, they just look like "this is fabric so it needs lines". Area of infection connection to body also is a bunch of indistinct lines, though how you handle coloring might make up for it. I like it, it's fun.

Rediscovering vine charcoal for quick drawings. Stuff is orgasmic for working quickly, it's just tough to control the value in tight places that have already been established. I wonder if you guys will see the same mistakes I do.

Cool color work and brush work is okay. play with edges a little more and turning form, it seems really soft/flat right now, except the mouth which is real solid.

You're doing it wrong. Eyes and bangs look flat. Neck looks like it inserts into the head like a lego figurine. Hit the beginner thread and forget "style" for a while.
