are there even good mangaka with good stories that don't use generic tropes?
all the manga that I've read that were actually good had dedicated writers
I just don't believe that some artist can somehow make a story at the same level of someone who literally dedicates their entire life to telling stories
idk, i could be wrong, but when I've read mangaka's solo work, it's also tropey garbage which is why I ignore any manga that doesn't have a dedicated writer
