>I can’t tell if the praise itt is some hugbox shit, ironic shitposting, or the comic autists are so deep into the theory of sequential art that they see this good for some underlying mechanic while being unable to recognize it looks like shit to someone whose only interest in comics is reading them

These are the same anons who will shit on any legitimate professional who get's posted here. It's part of 4chan's contrarian culture. Literal garbage is propped up for being "different", "soullful" etc., anything that's actually good and generally well received by most is considered trash and "soulless".

Op, I don't even know where to begin. Don't listen to the retards in this thread they'll just stunt your growth. Words of encouragement are fine, but telling a literal beg he's good is actually detrimental and arguably malicious. You clearly have zero grasp of form, anatomy, perspective, depth, color, lighting, shading, line weight, etc. It's obvious you aren't referencing. You basically aren't putting in any real effort whatsoever and wondering why it "feels off".

The story is about what I'd expect from a beg writer as well, ultra generic western hero fighting ultra generic western bandits. This is the kind of shit a 12 year old would come up with unironically.

You want advice, just throw this into the trash altogether, learn the fucking basics of art, of writing, of making comics, before you even begin to try something on this scale.

Why can't you use both? Why does it always have to be one extreme or the other extreme with you people? I usually use the "rule of thumb" to choose whether to use shoulder or wrist. Anything that's bigger than my thumb I use my shoulder, anything smaller, I use my wrist. The only reason people and myself included tell beginners to use their shoulders is because it forces them to draw big, and get out of the habit of tiny drawings that have horrible proportions. It forces you to step back from your drawing instead of hunching over autistically and makes be able to put in more details and makes it easier to see your proportional mistakes when learning. If you wobble a little bit and make a millimeter of a mistake in you proportion line, the ratio of how much error it will cause in the rest of the drawing won't be as bad in a 12*17 drawing than in a 4*4 inch drawing. Once you get used to it, it's actually easier to draw around that size instead of the normal dainty sketchbook drawings because of precisely that fact. It's why comic book artists draw big even when they're work is going to be shrunk down to much smaller size anyway.

Ok fags, we need a new proper term for "art"
Art is just a dirty word full of fucking politics.

I'm tired of argueing about objective standarts and why they exist, why something like perspective and anatomy is objective instead of subjective.

I'm tired of this BS that retards thinking their shit without fundamentals is great since some dumb rich is paying millions.

We need a new term for art that has foundamentals, is founded on solid training, has a message that is positive and it's main focus is beauty and having a smart message.

I consider this new term should have some definition along these lines:

This new word should refer to:
Anything that has a message, reflect an emotion in the observer, has a positive uplifting message (humanism), has a moral message, is grounded on the historical tradition of his craft, needs strong foundamentals, has a deep knowledge of the best of human culture and generally try to be beautifull, creating a catarsis in the viewer, improving his life and view on the world.
Generally this "stuff" should have an objective quality it should be easily qualified by people with training in the craft.

This quality could be easily measure by the amount of information, like a score points, it has.
Some of these points could be (in the case of painting):
- composition
- anatomy (if it has models)
- color theory
- narrative of the image
- use of the forms
- perspective
- lightning and values
- texture and brushwork
- historical stuff
- use of cultural references
- emotional impact on the viewer
- planes
- quality of the idea (how smart is the idea)
- line quality

Therefore, in painting it could mean stuff like abstract art also be considered beauty, but they will score less points than masterpieces of older centuries.

We need a new smart term, a meme if you will.
something catchy, if possible we will need to shill it and make it this new art concept something that catches on.

Think of a manifesto.
