>spend probably millions on redesigning dead site to attract more professionals
>fart, fat and foot fetish artists now have a new shiny site to post their shit

Deviantart is rolling out its new site layout soon complete with the removal of advertisements, journal and profile customization, (what people pay $50 USD/year for). They've basically taken Artstation, Gumroad, Tumblr, Twitch, Facebook and sites like Commish.io and slammed them all into one.
To be fair, a lot of these features are not new to deviantart, (premium content, commission widget, prints that have poor profit margins) but they were just unintuitive and soon given up on after release.
DA also is improving the search function, categories (making less of them), and how people search for shit to like.

The information is hard to find easily because they decided to market this with a fucking ARG (?????) so here's the website, https://www.deviantarteclipse.com/ and the login you had to "uncover" is "totaleclipse" (because they're really proud of having something so basic as a light and dark mode).

I personally think they're doing too much and will alienate current users while it wont bring anyone new in. The cooler features will probably be locked to certain users like how livestreaming is handled currently (and motionbooks in the past). If anything, if they aren't just hosting a stream, the site will go under from the cost of hundreds of people trying to stream all at once with no one watching.

Will this update make you guys want to use the site again? Will we no longer have to post our shit on twitter to compete with cute animal video or instagram thots to gain popularity?
