I regularly go through the social media thread on /ic/ and report any accounts with content that is even remotely racist, anti-Semitic, or generally bigoted. I've gotten several people banned this way.

It took me many years of trying to build up a freelance illustration career to get to a place of basic financial stability. Although I did make a lot of progress in that regard, I wasted so much time and effort worrying about Instagram / social media. I'm 29 now and would much rather chase a dollar than a follower. Being poor just sucks, and having a large online following is not going to magically change that. Putting all your eggs into trying to become e-famous is just a recipe for misery and depression. Financial success & stability is so much more important than a large online following. Take care of yourself today, and don't fret so much about your legacy or your fame.

I regularly give out misleading & harmful advice on /ic/. Especially when it comes to giving out career / commission advice, I try to purposefully set people up for failure. The best is when you get a lot of replies thanking you for sharing your tips, as it just goes to show that morons here will eat up any advice from some anonymous stranger as long as the advice is presented with confidence and authority.

I've gone through the social media thread and reported posts from multiple anons that were racist, sexist or homophobic. Reported anything that blatantly violated Instagram's rules on offensive content. If you get enough of these, IG will suspend your account, so I hope you've all been good little anons!
