When doing research for an art project, do any of you get lost in it sometimes?

I found it very enthralling to read about the Devonian and Carboniferous eras and their plant life in general.

Here's a few concepts I came up with for fungal flora, and a fern (I love ferns). The larger fungal plants are supposed to be 1 or 2 meters tall. The design is overtly phallic on purpose, and I wanna come up with some yonic designs too.
