I undergo the same shit repeatedly. It's part of my cycle, and when I do get back to art, my shit usually does improve by a little bit. Why did it improve? because even though I take breaks from art, in a way, I still have art in my mind. I'd go and experience other stuff, and keep those experiences with me as inspos/references. And even if I stop doing art, I still keep my observant eye for a lot of art that crosses my path. Whether it be collage art, abstract art, realism, anime, etc. I still reverse engineer the things I see. So when I do get back to art, whatever rust I have is mostly only because my hands aren't used to holding pens again. The only downside is that whenever I get back to art, my art changes as well. Because of this, I have a sorta inconsistent gallery. Even employers ask me "what the fuck is your style, really?"
