2000AD put out a script book a couple years ago and I'll always share it when the subject of writing for comics comes up:

The 2000 AD Script Book has numerous examples to sift through; I'd recommend finding others like it, even if they don't look as pretty.

There are lots of scripts leftover from the webcomic boom of the late 90s and early 00s. God, I wish the Warren Ellis Forum were still around.

Scott McCloud's books (Understanding Comics and Making Comics, specifically) are just foundational texts for Comics Studies. They're great reads, but he doesn't give any examples as to how writers actually work in the industry.

Well iirc manga scriptwriting starts with NAMEs, which is just another form of the storyboarding process; it's literally the industry standard to start with storyboards for mangaka. The artist-author is presumed to have everything prepared for the publisher by themselves which seems so.. stressful. Why don't collections exist of them, specifically? All of the nameless assistants they eventually hire who end up doing in-betweens don't get enough credit. Compare that to say, 2000AD where the task of creating a single issue can be evenly distributed across a multitude of people (writing, sketching, inking, coloring, lettering, etc). Speaking of which, here's the link to their scriptbook again:
