it's an analogous color scheme, pretty common
red/magenta/blueish-purple are all right next to each other on the subtractive color wheel

important note to take away from it is the balance tho, they were able to use a massive amount of super saturated magenta to fill the negative space/background because everything in the head is either neutral or super desaturated, save the red bit on the eye, which is super small, used to draw interest, while also setting mood. plus it just looks cool lol
