the thing is that what im doing is not industry work and my actions aren't to be held up as an example of an animator working in the industry. im animating for a youtube channel and that's pretty much it. i just personally don't need to earn that much to exist and im pretty content with what i have right now. i agreed on the rate that they gave me and i can always negotiate a raise if my living condition changes. having a paycheck is better than having nothing to me, especially when you've not had much professional animation experience. i knew that i wasn't gonna be making $5k a month the moment i started seeking out professional gigs, but it's a good thing to work up to.

now if i was living in LA and trying to get by with professional animation work, that would be completely different because of how TV animation is handled behind the scenes. since im just some grugg in the middle of the woods where there's no jobs, making good money doing animation in my bedroom is really fulfilling.

maybe im an optimist or some shit but it's a really good feeling when i get pay rent with a job that fits me like a glove.
