If you want a quick fix, my main issue is your line weight. It's boring as shit and jarring to look at. Start using brushes that have pen pressure turned on and practice controlling your line weight(Also if for some god forsaken reason you have a tablet that doesn't have pen pressure support get one). If you're able to master that you'll go a long way to making your stylized art look better cause admittedly, that Megumi is pretty cute but the line weight is killing it.

Once you work on your line weight I'd suggest studying up on color theory, what compliments each other and improving how you color. And don't forget you always can improve your fundies like anatomy, proportions, measuring, shading, etc etc.

thanks again man. I draw on an intous tablet, I don't know if that makes a difference. How good is your handwriting? If you have good handwriting it's all just mental. Use your shoulder for long strokes and use your wrist to pivot for small marks.

If you're dying to get some "professional" supplies I would highly recommend the pencils in the OP pic. They're soft and have a really cool side eraser, but they are pricey.
From the sketches I can see in your picture I'd advise you to work on your lines. Hopefully the chart I attached will help.

Started practicing random stuff from info-graphs. It's a lot more fun when I have a clear direction on what to practice. I keep telling myself to 'learn <anatomy perspective proportion other fundamentals>' but I'm usually just going in a vague direction of these and hoping I'm doing the right thing. Like always, progress is slow so I drop it

I understand you can't fit an entire life's guide to anatomy and fundamentals in a single image. I'm down for learning and struggling with these difficult subjects. What makes it fun is knowing that I'm doing something right

overall great tutorial on linework, so read them carefully if you got time
try drawing your line in 1 stroke, that will make it look a lot cleaner
