Anyone here have/have had a mentor? If so what do you think of the experience? How did you get one? I think having someone to specifically focus on you and push you would be good, but right now I'm just surrounded by people who like my art unconditionally (family, friends, etc.). At the same time, getting critique from random strangers doesn't seem to do it right, either.

I'm like 90% sure this is the painting you're talking about, though it's not that low saturation and the guy who painted it actually just died like a couple years ago and was pretty young so it's not some old master painting.
