Different anon here but I'd suggest you stop thinking about other people getting stuff out of your art and prioritize yourself. I've been at this for years and think I'm pretty good now, and with this LAS thing I've been making more and more work that I'm actually happy with but still no recognition or anything for it. Maybe I'm on the edge of getting so good that people start noticing me and it all starts to landslide, or maybe I just have shit taste or something, I don't know. It's pretty depressing to post something I'm genuinely proud of on fb or tumblr or wherever and get 2 or 3 people dropping a like, and then scroll to a friend who churns out practice sketches every day but somehow gets 8k+ people drooling over them.

I just ignore it as best I can though, and avoid looking at other people's numbers when my own work goes unnoticed, even things I'm proud of. Focus on your own work and make whatever the hell you want to. Don't try pander unless it's for marketing or work, and don't overthink things you think will be popular or not. The client will always pick the thumbnail you like least, some people just don't have good taste.
