If you wanted a picture of the reference- you would just look at the reference.
I'm not saying aiming to have a photocopy ability isn't a good goal but it isn't what you need to be able to do to make art you can sell or show off.
Proko gets Meme'd hard for the kangaroo but he actually knows how to look at a person and draw their whole body.
