Man your values are all so dark and everything is so cold. No wonder it isn't looking right to you if you want a super bright mirror's edge look.

Here is a quick and sloppy paintover. I'm not much of an interiors guy, but I like to think through lighting a lot so maybe this will help. Basically given the hard edges on the light on the floor you have set up a direct bit of sun coming into the room. THIS SHOULD BE BRIGHT! My room right now is considerably brighter than the one you painted, and I have my blinds shut--the only light entering my room is through the edge of the blackout blind near the window frame. Think of what it's like to be in a room in the early afternoon with direct sunlight, it can be blinding. The human eye is not a camera, it can have an interior seem quite bright and still have the outside exposed properly. So don't be afraid of light values since the light is quite strong and will bounce all around the room quite a lot.

And the light bouncing all around will be very warm, basically sunlight is warm and then usually that warmth gets multiplied as it bounces around more and more and the cool wavelengths get absorbed. I actually think my paintover can use more warmth too.
