I'm not OP but you're kinda crazy. I know a good handful of professional artists and while it's true that pretty much all of them took a year or two of not being bothered by anyone so they could hone their craft enough to get a good job, they all returned to having a social life after that, and of all the ones I know, I'd only consider one of them to be "poor" but he's by no means living in squallor, it's just that rather than having his own place he shares an apartment with a roommate but he's still got a plasma tv and ps3 and he eats and shit. You don't have to die a ramen eating NEET, geez.
