There are Credits, Gallery Points (GP), and Hath.

You can earn credits playing the Hentaiverse browser game. You'd most likely never earn enough this way to do anything meaningful... at least,not without spending *some* money. For example, I saw that one of the other users was offering a bounty of millions of credits for a hentai that I could buy digitally online and deliver to him. The Hentai only cost me about $12US to buy, and I got the bounty when I delivered it.

You can earn GP for things like having galleries that other users download images from or by putting up and seeding a torrent (you can add torrents to other users' galleries, too) that other users complete. There's also an exchange market where you can buy GP for credits at about a 60% discount.

Finally, if you run part of E-H's distributed processing over your home computer ("Hentai-at-Home", AKA "H@H"), you earn a third type of reward called "Hath". Since most users aren't doing H@H, Hath sells for a pretty good chunk. There's an exchange market for that, too.

Also, irrespective of available funds, if you can do distributed file sharing, many galleries will have a live torrent; the more popular a gallery is, the more likely there are to be people seeding it.
