That's weird, I don't see anything in here that defaults to 1200dpi (including the advanced comic options with stuff like shueisha/kodansha/etc formats). Surely you could just reduce the DPI, right? Changing the DPI doesn't change the borders for me -- to the point where I've accidentally drawn projects way too small because I couldn't tell until I started toning them.

Keep in mind that CSP/mangastudio, being a fairly old program at this point, doesn't really make extensive use of multithreading. Meaning it's only using one cpu core for most things, so the bottleneck will be individual core processing speed... which the hardware industry moved away from improving, in favor of just fitting more cores in.
