/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

My drawings are all garbage. They're so boring and bland. I don't know how to make them fun to look at. Here's the first page from a project I just scrapped. What should I do, stylistically? Should I render more? Or should I study composition? Maybe copy manga? Or are my actual fundamentals the one that holding me back and if only I drew better I could automatically make my art more interesting to look at?

I think I need to learn inking techniques and include more light and shade. The flat shapes of colors are killing me, I think. What are your opinions?
