First of all, reading books doesn't make you better at drawing.
Second, you have to grind the exercises. The potatoes, etc, you repeat these and make similar exercises every day.
And third, doing exercises is not the only thing you must do. Drawing from reference, drawing from imagination, etc.

So, repeat the exercises but also draw from reference. Draw a lot.

What's stopping peopple from doing both? I spend some time grinding and some time drawing from reference. I'm a noob, so I don't find any fun in drawing for 'fun', I only draw shit. I think I will stick to this routine for a couple of months until I have something to draw.
