Follow your horizontal guidelines. I The skull is less round than you think, your features dont line up. Look at prokos lip tutorial, ears are at eyebrow level. Im guessing you didnt use form and put the shadows at random too. Its fine to use reference once in a while.

My iteration of your drawing wouldve probably felt better ( to me) if he was a little more stretched horizontally but i tried to keep it the way you made it ( a little too long)
