Oh come on, you can improve faster when you're older, more experience and maturity allows you to learn things more thoroughly and consciously.
Stop believing the brain elasticity shit, that's only true because children are forced to learn, if you want to learn something as an adult just force yourself and you'll learn 10x faster. I know a guy who speaks fluently in Chinese, german, arab, spanish, english and japanese. He started learning languages at 24 (agricultural engineer)
I also know a guy who used to weigh 160 kg and the fat slob achieved /fit/ness. My father rebuilt his workshop twice after a fire and a collapse.
