Learning to draw other styles other than anime, or working with other mediums, or attempting to gain as much functional knowledge about your craft as you possibly can, or learning how to draw a face correctly before attempting to draw anime, or learning to draw a body correctly first before exaggerating it, doesn't sound like bad advice to me. Your "reply", sound like something I would have answered with years ago. I'm glad I'm no longer in that frame of mind or that state of heart anymore. I'm a better baker now, like pic related.
