I think that hair can work if you're starting out. I'd give it a bit more volume on the top half of the head, just a few pixels higher so that the hair is like a layer on top of the skull, yknow, but dont do it if you're not sure how

also this should be obvious but since you said you're pre-/beg/: when you ink, keep the large shape of this hair like I highlighted in red. keep it as one, don't split them into multiple thin strokes like you did in the sketch. can add a few smaller ones here and there but sparingly

dont worry about the cheeks, i just added some cute cheek shinies for FUN because drawing is fun, supposedly. fuck doomers embrace fun
