Well, I'm still at it, sadly, still no progress.

I don't understand, when Betty Edwards erases, shapes of the face starts to form. When I do it, it just looks like a white mess. I can't tell what I'm doing wrong. I've tried shading in after the erase, but it just all feels wrong.
