Gonna add on to this. Fastest way of getting really basic shading and lighting on a character is this
>Set new layer to clip to layer below, that being a completed flat colour layer (this will lock it to bounds of the colour)
>Set new layer to 40% opacity and multiply for shadows or screen for light.
Boom, fast and sloppy shading. Great for working on the clock.
