before you dismiss me as a notalent-idea-guy or lazy wannabe or whatever know that i am a regular poster on this board, and grew to be somewhat of a competente artist with the help of this board. so much so that i am making a living drawing and painting shit currently, although it is a struggle and exhausting. ok read on:

my trouble is i have all these ideas... but no time to put them on paper. i dream of a movie, but realistically will have to settle for a graphic novel or comic initially, just to capture the essence of what i think about.

just right now i woke up and lied there in bed for about an hour spinning the idea further.

in case you are curious i'll give you a brief rundown (skip if you don't give a shit):

-not so distant future (say 2150)
-somewhat noir cyberpunk setting (little punk though)
- virtual reality and technology have advanced to the point where sexuality has been largely replaced by a matrix-like simulation
- a company build isolation-tank looking machines where people pay money in order to hook their brain up and lie in the tank for an hour, then their body is pumped full of hormones to cause paralysis, and the simulation begins. they pay for specific fetishes that they might have, and live them out in time-stretch, meaning they can for instance pay for one evening, night and morning of the perfect girlfriend experience while only being 'asleep' for one hour.
- the simulation is absolutely lifelike, however since quantum computation is only on the brink of being perfected, the the simulation is not complex enough to let the client actually interact with stuff, he can turn his head (like the oculus) and feel, taste, smell everything but only ocassionally make certain decisions like in a videogame.
- now the storys kicker is when quantum computation becomes market ready. the companies developing these simulations start developing complex worlds, and most importantly artifical intelligences to put into the 'NPC's'

this is my favourite thread atm and i am refreshing it every 5 minutes

every now and then there pops up a thread on /ic/ that is just bursting with wisdom and knowledge, and plenty of high quality posters contribute. yet there are not too many quality posters so the threads get buried quickly.

i would very much love for the discussion about techniques of the very best of the industry to keep going
