you assess a piece based on many aspects. pic related is a random seashell drawing i pulled from google, because OP likes realistic drawing so much.
what have we got? detailed, but a little hazy in places. spacially, the floor tiles are ok, the shadow all over is ok, but the shell joint in the front seems undecided - the dynamic of the drawing and smudging doesn't sculpt the shape really well, can't say if or where the curve is going; inwards or bulging outwards. thematically, it is simple, just object drawing. quite prosaic. the composition however is ok, as the shell and the shadows provide for a dynamic that is at least decorative and balanced.
