>doing studies
I mean basically everything I do is a study. 300 dang acrylic paintings trying different techniques, order of operations, expressions, gestures, etc.
> instead of trusting random hocus pocus
like neuroplasticity and learning and the doors of perception and stuff?

Why do you think there would be NO benefit to practicing what you do with your non-dominant hand? If nothing else it's a challenge that will be forcing your brain to encode and process the behavior more than normal. Literally makes your perception of time slow down and your memories are working harder to encode what's happening.

Plus now I'll have a lefthanded painting that I can shitpost.

its a waste of money and time. It's not just a useless diploma for basically any other type of work, it maybe even works against you in a lot of people's eyes. They'll judge your life choices and stuff. A lot of people perceive art school as the place where weirdos get turned into weirdo assholes.

And when it gets right down to it, you're not really getting that much from the education that is of value to anyone else, or that you couldn't have gotten on your own for free. Like with basically all schooling now, the most important thing is networking. You're spending a lot of money to live and work with the Future Achievers of Yestermorrow, the relationships you make with them are going to be way more important than 90% of the theory and history shit you need to learn that nobody cares about.

It'd honestly be a better investment to take the money and rent out studio space and spend 4 years producing shit from ignorance and learning on the way than going to debtors prison.

>2 massive egos who think theyre better than everyone
I legitimately don't think I'm better than anyone. MY ENTIRE POINT IS THAT EVERYONE HAS THE CAPACITY TO CREATE INTERESTING AND AESTHETIC ART. I'm not competing with anyone really, and it's just a bunch of projected mental illness when I interact with people that need to tell themselves they're better than everyone.
>it's like watching retarded twins wrestle in the back yard
I accept this. That's basically what /ic/ is. That's why I like it here. I don't come here for the inciteful criticism offered to me from a bunch of virginal weeb highschoolers. I just like to wrastle.
