You really make a good point here. There's a lot of great info in his book and I've learned a lot from it. But my main criticism of it is that in an attempt to dumb it down as much as possible, he often abstracts the figure so much into such rudimentary geometrics that it is almost pointless to think of it in such a way because it is so divorced from how the figure actually looks to the eye. Vilppu teaches you construction in a way that's more fluid and practical.
