Good job and keep going :) I don't think you should think of drawing in stages, but you can learn each thing fluidly. My forms improved a lot once I started painting (without linework) maybe it will help you too

You are losing soul because you are scared of making a controlled decision to draw something exaggerated to the point of being anatomically correct. You seem to know anatomy but push it further here and there. I also noticed I got very rigid as my perspective improved. Hope it helps :)
