>sit down at my desk to draw
>get really tired and sleepy within 5 minutes of picking up the pen and opening CSP
>have to give up because my eyes just want to close and sleep
This has been happening a lot lately.

learn about the different ways light interacts with objects and environments so you understand what factors you should be considering when you set up the lighting for a piece.
then use reference.
are you drawing something that's set outside during the night? pull up some photos and study how moonlight can make things look. apply that to your piece. rinse and repeat.
once you're comfortable doing a certain kind of setup, you can chuck the reference out the window if you really want but it's good to have it.
