I’d appreciate some clarification on what contour drawing actually is, because I’m worried I’m doing it. I’m constructing the primary masses of the torso, and drawing gesture in the arms and legs before I draw them, but I’m not sure if I’m actually contour drawing.

I feel like I can only actually place down lines on the contours since that’s the outline of the shape, but when I’m doing that around my own construction is that okay? Sorry if I’m not wording myself correctly.
