I thought that I should try that Art Academy game on the 3DS hoping that it would help me with my awful understanding of values and form but I just keep getting so far and then ruining it when lights and shadows get involved.

I have a lot of trouble seeing shadows unless they really stand out.

For this step he wants me to capture the shadows and I guess the reflected light but I just can't see what the shadows that he's blocked in on the image itself, mine is on the right and his is on the left.
