I'll add on to this anon's post with a story I remember reading in some old 2chan threads where someone relayed information about animators. It seems Sushio (formerly of Gainax) or someone else admitted he didn't practice drawing naked people all that often and a senior animator (Yoshinari, also formerly of Gainax) overheard started ripping into him, and quite mercilessly so; afterwards, the animator says he'll have to pull out his old copy of "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth" by Loomis-san and get to practicing. This is understandable, figure drawing is an animator's bread and butter and they need to know how to draw many bodies from many angles consistently. But to think Loomis would be their go to...?

In Tatsuki Fujimoto's one-shot "Look Back", the main character begins to seriously study art in elementary school in order to be a mangaka. One of the first books she goes out and buys is Jack Hamm's "Drawing the Head and Figure".

Yusuke Murata infamously used an instructional drawing by Loomis line for line in one of his manga (albeit as an example).
