Hey bro! I didn't even know the lion drawing was from reference! You shouldn't just start drawing shit from "Masters" if it's not a really good drawing or something that can teach something about your subject matte unless you actually want to plagiarize them (or something).

Now about the horse. He is a sad boy! I thought you were just fucking up the anatomy but he is a sad little boy so that's my bad. That's a nice drawing anyways! Aaaanyways... I think you're looking too much into the aspects that 'you think' make the horse look like the object that it is. You're focusing on all the wrong things. You need to start looking at things as random shapes. You're emphasizing attributes in your chess piece that aren't prevalent in your photo. I upped the contrast but I think you should go even further when you're starting to work from reference. Squint/blur your eyes and go from there! You'll be more correct or probably at least more appealing to everybody else!
