I know this might sound retarded or a waste of time to you , but read pic related.
It gives a concise history of art in a fascinating way without too many details and dates that are boring.
Why read art history?
It’s all about the progression of how we see and how what we see is put down on canvas/paper/ wood panel or whatever.
And to do that you have to THINK about what and how you see.
A MAJOR part of art is thinking.
And learning the progress of mankind in the realm of art is learning about the progress of mans thinking.
And then that will help you “see” what you are wanting and eventually trying to learn.


OR you can just try to draw cute anime girls and have a folder on your computer to put them and wonder why it’s not doing it for you.
