That's not too bad. So 150 hours. Without a teacher it'll take much longer, so say 5 times as long. That's 750 hours. If you draw every day for 8 hours, it would take a little over 3 months

>try following /ic/s advice and use references
>have an idea for a painting
>search google references
>2 hrs pass
>don't feel like drawing any more
>give up and just try my best to draw it from imagination
>looks a bit fucked, but overall like how it turned out
>friends in discord like it
hmmm
references are a meme

How do I draw cute girls WITHOUT making anime drawings? I like cute girls and want to draw them, but I don't really care for anime and don't want a reputation as a weeb, or be part of that "community". Disney style is barf. Western tradition is impressive, but doesn't have much in the way of cute girls, mostly "beautiful" girls, in that germanic man-jaw conception of beauty.

Should I invent my own style and visual language to convey cuteness? How would one go about doing that?
Or should I just bite the bullet and go with anime? I feel like anime style doesn't have enough expressive power to convey more subtle cuteness characteristics, mostly the cute traits that are also "not conventionally attractive".
Any advice?

I can go through the people who currently have a streak and see what % of them are in the LAS discord if you'd like, I see a lot of site people on there. That only works if I know what their names are on both though.

I just started reading the guide in the sticky.
Do i really need to read Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain? I thought i would start with Loomis.
The pages are way too filled with commentary and random shit. I need something straightforward, with lots of exercises.
If i can make a decent drawing of the upside down picasso, can i move straight to loomis?
I'm also having trouble understanding what this book teaches you. Apparently it's so you draw what actually is in reality, instead of what you think it is. But what if i don't care about realism? I want to draw fantasy stuff and abstract art.
p.s. i've been drawing for about 3 years, but never studied anything or practiced.

How much can It cost a non mediocre teacher or art school online that isn't Harvard tier expensive?

>but self teach
that's a meme, 98% of /ic/ stagnate for years because they think self study is some magic bullet.

>but art college memes
I'm not asking shitty art college, but ateliers that focus on classical realism.

If there's enough interest it could be fun and as a /beg/ one it'd be safe for us to completely fuck up.

I love animation and have been drawing all my life. My dream is to become a storyboard artist. How do I make it? Should I get into a specific school to build a curriculum or go ahead and focus on making a portfolio already? Also, what are some essential books about it?

Whenever my room mate is out I sing to myself in either plainsong/Gregorian chant style or in the style of classic regimental marches making up the notes as I go along while drawing. But then again I do have autism.
