There's no inherent gate you need to unlock to go digital dude, and you don't need to spend 150-200 on a tablet either.

Get a Huion 1060plus and see how you like it for 80 bucks or a h610 pro for 60

Switch between traditional and digital, it will make you a better, more well rounded artist.
