First time poster. I have always been a margin doodler, but I really don't have it in me to be a disciplined artist. I was just wanting some feedback at how to improve at high simplistic/SD drawings that aren't meant to be true to life. I know the "correct" way is the general art advice of starting with a sketchbook of real life and simply from that but realistically I won't commit to it since its just something I like to do for fun. Plus I sort of like the wabi-sabi crudeness of it. Lately I've been having trouble branching off to attached bodies that match in exaggerated style and proportion.

Any guides or tips on just making fun little doodle people? It seems like everyone in Japan is able to do this this much without being good at other drawing styles.
