I hate ToonBoom so much. it's overly complicated.
I like TVPaint much more, even though I admit it has a weird cerebral UI design.
I am honestly sad, when I look at western animation series nowadays - it's all fake, all toonboom, flash like tweening animation, because it's cheap.
gone are the days of frame by frame animation.

I call it the "Attack of the After Effects". next to Flash/Toon Boom tween animation, it's the main reason for the down fall of traditional 2D Animation. take it from someone who's been working as a "Motion Graphic" artist for more than a year. I hate it and yet I can't deny the fact of how simple and fast it is to make something move fast in After Effects.
AE and the 60s/70s fashion that was popular for a long time, made simple geometric shapes popular. I blame Apple and Youtube, because most people don't have a good sense for art. it's kind of sad how they get hypnotized and wowed by sliding shapes with simple ease ins and outs, calculated by some fucking codes. it's like electrodes pushing at some neurons, cold and boring.

I am working in a concert hall in vienna and they treat us as like shit. but on the plus side, most concerts take place in the evenings, so I have plenty of freetime in the daytime to masturbate.
