I don't think a week would be bad, but (of course) you do not wanna make a bad habit out of taking breaks. sometimes people convince themselves that it's "just one week" and build a habit of putting important things off only to regret it however long down the road. I'm not saying that's what you are doing, but you should think critically about your motivations.

there will always be someone better than you and who has seemingly improved faster. all you can do is make corrections to your process when the realization of them arises and try to do your best. past that regret/envy is a cancer that should be dispelled with. also note that you can only move forward from where you are and that it is fruitless pondering too much on what could be. again, have a goal, make corrections where you see fit, and work towards that goal: that's all you can do.
