You really have to trade in your modesty to really sit there and hustle and put yourself out there so people want to like your art enough to give you money for it. You have to put in the hours networking and promoting yourself in addition to keeping your skills up. You have to be an enterprising mercenary bastard.

You have to be honest with yourself: Do you really want to expend all that effort just to even begin to scrape out a meager living with 50-60 dollars a day?

I dont think it matters if someone wants you to make a stylistic change if they're paying you. That's why they're paying you isn't it? To draw what they want.
I get what your saying but i think you're getting overly dramatic and forgetting that you're offering your service for a fee. You can draw your own stuff if you want artistic fulfillment.

If you have a lot of free time, and it doesnt seem like it, i'd read the fountainhead. The author is a cunt but the book is amazing and basically deals with your issue.
