you should get some extremely tight bargue plates first, you want this to be a master copy, a literal almost 1 to 1 copy of what you are studying. i would probably do a few of them, until you are comfortable, and then move on.

also, you need to think about how you are controlling your pencil, you want economy of line (line efficieny, and fidelity) and make sure you are lightly placing your early marks. each mark should be a decision, so ghosting them, and being very gentle before knowing you want to add value there, is ideal.

I've been commissioned to produce a nsfw comic, but have a highly specific request for one of the characters and am struggling to do it from imagination.
