The general rule is to use colors in a way that even if you turn picture gray scale it still looks good. In your case you didnt use any darker tone colors which gave it unnatural look.

I used the laziest quick fix: filter. But if you keep it in mind and do it manually on strategical places only, it will look way better. For example adding highlights to her skin, highlights to the water and turning her swimwear darker.

Google some photos of people at beach and notice how water ripples produce both dark and shiny colors and how human skin on sun light is pretty "dark" even when the people are pale.
