So I've read about composition, elements of design, but when it comes to illustrations I never have any ideas. I feel like my head is completely devoid of creativity and ideas when I sit down to work on a piece for myself. If it's a commission and they describe what I want, then I can fill in the blanks, but my own art is so dull and lifeless and I don't know what to do.
